CHESS Conference Set for IHA
OSEMONT, Ill.–The Chief Housewares Executive SuperSession (CHESS) conference will take place on Oct. 6-7 at the Intercontinental Chicago O’Hare hotel here.
Adolfo Laurenti, deputy chief economist and managing director of Mesirow Financial, will deliver the keynote address titled “Time of Crisis, Time of Opportunities,” discussing the winners and losers from the recession and the economy’s lackluster recovery, on Oct. 6. On Oct. 7, Michael Silverstein, senior partner and managing director of The Boston Consulting Group, will speak on the new “female economy” in his address titled “Women Want More—How to Capture Your Share of the World’s Largest, Fastest-Growing Market.” Closing the program will be Al Meyers, senior vice president of Kantar Retail, who will describe the fundamentals of post-recession U.S. retailing and the implications for retailers and housewares manufacturers in “Retailing Trends to 2015: Recession to Recovery.”
